TEHRAN – The Defense Ministry released a message on Saturday on the 37th anniversary of the Mobilization Resistance Force, known as Basij in Farsi, saying the resistance force is one of the strategic achievements of the Islamic Republic since its formation in 1979.

In the message, the Defense Ministry called Basij “the manifestation of determination and resistance against threats posed by the enemies.”

The ministry also said that the defeat of Daesh (ISIS) in Iraq and Syria was achieved due to Basij’s outlook and resistance against the enemies.
