Artists to celebrate 30 years of relations between Iran, WFP
TEHRAN – A large number of Iranian artists are scheduled to come together at the Tehran office of the World Food Program (WFP) on Thursday to celebrate 30 years of relations between the WFP and Iran, WFP Representative Negar Gerami announced in a press conference on Monday.
A collection of 30 paintings by Afghan children from some refugee camps in Iran will be showcased in an exhibition on the sidelines of the celebration to raise funds for the children and their families.
Iranian pop star Alireza Assar is also scheduled to give a performance during the event.
Assar and Iranian actresses Vishka Asayesh, Leili Rashidi, and Sahar Dolatshahi, who are collaborating with the WFP, were also in attendance at the press conference.
WFP is the food-assistance branch of the United Nations and the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security.
