Pakistan army chief meets top Iranian officials

TEHRAN – Visiting Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday held separate talks with President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces

During the meeting with Zarif, the officials discussed cooperation in various areas of politics, border security, economy and fight against terrorism and extremism.

Iran’s readiness to export gas to Pakistan, unity among the Islamic countries and necessity of awareness to foil plots which seek to create division among Muslims were other issues that Zarif and Bajwa discussed.

Baqeri and the top Pakistani general held talks on expansion of relations in the spheres of defense and security.
