TEHRAN – Major General Mohammad Baqeri, head of the Iranian armed forces, on Thursday highlighted the importance that Tehran attaches to Damascus, saying Iran regards Syria as the main front line against the enemies.

In the second martyrdom anniversary of General Hossein Hamadani, who was killed in Syria, Baqeri hailed the role that Iranian military attachés in Syria.

He also said the Zionist regime backs the terrorists in Syria. 

The commander added that Hamedani had realized this and that’s why he went to Syria.
