No obligations beyond agreements: Iran’s nuclear chief

Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks after his meeting with Yukiya Amano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Salehi also said the UN nuclear watchdog chief praised Iran’s commitment to the nuclear deal. 

“The director general expressed satisfaction over Iran’s compliance with its commitments [to the JCPOA],” Salehi told reporters after his meeting with Amano in Vienna.

The IAEA is tasked to supervise Iran’s compliance to the JCPOA according to which Iran is obliged to lower its nuclear activities in exchange for termination of financial and economic sanctions on the country.
