TEHRAN – The Expediency Council's Research and Strategic Studies Center will be abolished soon, the council’s secretary Mohsen Rezaei announced on Tuesday.

The center, established in 1989, is the research arm of the Expediency Council. The current head of organization is Ali Akbar Velayati who replaced Hassan Rouhani, the current president of Iran.

Rezaei said this will not be an end to the Expediency Council’s strategic research as the studies will continue under the council’s secretariat.
