Top IRGC commanders meet President Rouhani

TEHRAN – President Hassan Rouhani has thanked the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces for their efforts and services to the country and stressed the need for unity among all the forces and institutions in the country.

Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with a number of senior IRGC commanders in Tehran on Monday.

The generals in the meeting were IRGC Chief Mohammad Ali Jafari, Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani, IRGC Aerospace Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Basij Commander Gholam-Hossein Gheybparvar and Deputy Chief of Sarallah unit Esmael Kosari.

Rouhani expressed hope that during his second term in office, all the armed forces of the country would come to the aid of his administration to meet the needs of the Iranian nation.

He also said that the enhanced combat power of the IRGC and the Army through new technologies will guarantee national security. 

IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, for his part, congratulated Rouhani on his reelection as president in the May 19 polls and voiced the IRGC’s readiness for all-out cooperation with the administration.

Other IRGC commanders attending the meeting briefed the president on the latest activities of their military units and expressed gratitude to the Rouhani administration for its support in promoting the country’s security and fighting terrorism.
