TEHRAN – Iranian-Armenian musician Razmik Ohanian has been honored with the Medal of Movses Khorenatsi, the highest decoration that Armenia awards for outstanding achievements in the spheres of culture, art, literature, education, social sciences and sports.

Ohanian received the medal from Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during a special ceremony in Yerevan last week, the Persian service of IRNA reported.

The medal was awarded to Ohanian for his contribution to establish a close relationship between Iranians and Armenians through music.

The Music Office of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance congratulated Ohanian for receiving the honor in a statement.

“Decorating you with the outstanding Armenian medal can only be a fraction of what your artistic position and cultural perspective deserve,” wrote Farzad Talebi, the director of the office.
