House arrests should not be discussed in public: Nobakht

TEHRAN – Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht has said that the issue of house arrests should not be openly discussed in public, noting it should be debated at the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
Nobakht’s remarks came as a response to recent comments by Judiciary Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani who ruled out the possibility of ending the house arrests against two presidential contenders who claimed vote rigging in the 2009 elections.
“Who are you to try to end the house arrests?” Amoli Larijani said Monday, pointing to President Rouhani’s campaign promise to resolve the issue.
