TEHRAN – The government spokesperson said on Tuesday Hassan Rouhani, who is constitutionally allowed to run for the post of president for a second term, will be the only cabinet member who will register to contest the May 19 presidential elections.

Mohammad Bagher Nobakht who appeared in his first press conference after New Year holiday, also said that Rouhani has not yet launched any campaign headquarters, Mehr news agency reported.

The spokesman also expressed concern that over the recent weeks a number of pro-Rouhani Telegram activists have been arrested by security organizations.
