Iran to commemorate poet Afshin Yadollahi at Paris Book Fair
TEHRAN – Iran plans to pay tribute to late poet Afshin Yadollahi during opening day of the Paris Book Fair tomorrow.
He died in a car crash on march 15 at the age of 48. Theme songs from the TV series “The Tenth Night” and “Zero Degree Orbit”, both directed by Hassan Fathi, were composed by Yadollahi. Vocalist Alireza Qorbani sang the theme songs.
A French translation of his collection “Le Clepcydre De L’amour” by Mithra Farzad was released by the London-based publisher Candle & Fog at the book fair in 2016.
This year, Iran also plans to introduce a French translation of Majid Qeisari’s novel “Ne change plus ton nom”. Candle & Fog is the publisher of the book translated into French by Roya Veyseh.
A number of Iranian writers and artists is scheduled to attend meetings and exhibitions, which will be organized at Iran’s stand during the Paris Book Fair that will end March 27.
