Annual job creation stands at 700,000: vice president

TEHRAN- Iran’s Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said that 700,000 jobs was created in the country during the past Iranian calendar year (which ended on March 20), IRNA reported on Wednesday.

While referring to unemployment as one of the challenges Iranian society encounters at the moment, the official said that the number of job seekers has increased noticeably in the country over the two past years.

To tackle unemployment, investment making and domestic production should come under the spotlight, the vice president asserted.

The official also announced that some one billion jobs are planned to be created in the country during the current calendar year.

He mentioned employment, production and Resistance Economy three major issues which were paid attention in the past year, saying that some new planning should be conducted to follow up these issues in the current year as well.
