Iran drawn with Russia in Greco-Roman World Cup

TEHRAN – Iran have been drawn along with Russia in the Greco-Roman World Cup.

The competition will bring eight teams together in Iran.

Iran has been drawn in Group A along with Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany.

Group B consists of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Belarus and Ukraine.

It’s not clear if the competition will be played in Abadan or Tehran.

Iran won the Freestyle Wrestling World Cup title for the sixth time in a row in February after defeating USA in Kermanshah, western of Iran.

Wrestling World Cup is an international wrestling competition among teams representing member nations of the United World Wrestling (UWW) the sport's global governing body.

The championships have been conducted every year since the 1973 tournament. The World Cup began as a dual-meet competition for the top teams on each continent, but now features the top teams in the rankings of the previous year's world championships.
