TEHRAN – The Judiciary has suspended the prison term for Ahmad Montazeri, the son of the late Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri.

The six-year prison sentence for Montazeri was suspended after an approval by the Supreme Leader following a request by a top cleric, Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

A court had sentenced Montazeri to prison in November for publishing a tape recording of his father. He began serving his prison term in February but soon was released.
