Vahdat Hall to commemorate composer Javad Marufi

TEHRAN – Tehran’s Vahdat Hall will commemorate Javad Marufi (1912 -1993), the celebrated composer and pianist, during a ceremony on Friday.
Three students of the maestro Saman Ehteshami, Mazda Ansari as well as Yekta and Puyan Azadeh, will be giving performances in honor of their master, said Nasser Izadi, the conductor of the Mehr National Orchestra.
The orchestra, as one of the organizers of the event, will also be performing several pieces composed by Marufi at the event.
A music video featuring words by musicians Ofelia Parto, Farhad Fakhreddini and Hassan Nahid about the master will be screened for the participants.
