TEHRAN – Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that Iran and Mali are willing to expand relations, especially in the economic sector.

During a joint press conference with Malian National Assembly Speaker Issaka Sidibe in Tehran, Larijani said that the Malian official’s trip to Iran will help expansion of relations.

He also said that the Palestine issue is the priority of the Islamic world, noting it should not be marginalized because of the crisis in the Middle East.

Sidibe also expressed concerns over the problems the Palestinians are facing.

Sidibe also called for expansion of cooperation with Iran in various areas.

He also extended condolences over the death of Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Council and former president of Iran, passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday.
