Former Sepahan and Esteghlal coach Firooz Karimi has been appointed as the new head coach of Sanat Naft on Wednesday.

Karimi replaced Nader Dastneshan who left Sanat Naft according to a term on his contract. There was a term on Dastneshan’s contract which allow the club to sack him if they finish lower than 10th spot at the end of first half of the season.

Sanat Naft is currently in 11th spot with 16 points from 15 games.

Dastneshan led Sanat Naft to win a promotion to Iran Professional League last season.

“This decision was not fair at all. Last night the club asked me to participate in a meeting in which they sacked me while the new coach had been arrived in Abadan earlier,” Dastneshan said.
