TEHRAN -- A group of about 20 participants from the IETM, an international network for contemporary performing arts based in Brussels, will be visiting Tehran during the 35th Fajr International Theater Festival.

The caravan, as it is called on the IETM website, will be in Tehran from January 26 to 29, the IETM has announced on its website.

The IETM is a network of over 500 performing arts, organizations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide.

Members include festivals, companies, producers, theaters, research, and resource centers, universities and institutional bodies.

The caravan will also leave ample space for connecting with local artists, while they will also attend meetings with educators and unions from the performing arts field.

“What is so special about the arts scene in Iran? Definitely, the audience. Insatiable for exciting and challenging art, the Iranian public is one of the most powerful encouragers of the country’s independent scene,” the website says.

The network holds two plenary meetings a year in different European cities and smaller meetings all over the world.
The 35th Fajr International Theater Festival will be running from January 20 to 31.
