Iran, Malaysia hold business forum to raise investment

TEHRAN – An Iran-Malaysia business forum was held on Monday aiming to explore expansion of economic ties and attracting foreign investment, IRIB news reported.

Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA)’s Deputy President in International Affairs Mohammad Reza Karbasi and Datuk Wira Jalilah Baba (1st L), president of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce (MICCI), attended the meeting.

Some 60 businessmen from 40 Malaysian companies active in the areas of oil, gas, petrochemicals, food, agriculture, information technology, construction, investment and finance, in addition to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) accompanied Jalilah baba in the forum.

Earlier in November a meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur to investigate Iran-Malaysia trade opportunities, in which Jalila Baba, who is also an honorary member of Iran-ASEAN Business Council, stressed that MICCI will back expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic.
