Cinema Verite to review Italian documentary cinema
TEHRAN -- The organizers of the 10th edition of Cinema Verite, the Iranian international festival for documentary films, has dedicated its review section to Italian documentary cinema.
Documentaries by Gianfranco Rosi, Roberto Minervini, Andrea Gropplero and several other Italian filmmakers will go on screen in this section of the festival, which will be held in Tehran from December 4 to 11.
Among the films selected for the section are “Stop the Pounding Heart” by Minervini, “When Italy Ate In Black And White” by Gropplero, and “Fire at Sea”, “Below Sea Level” and “El Sicario, Room 164” by Rosi.
Rosi, the only documentary filmmaker who has won top prizes at major European film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin and Venice, is expected to attend the festival this year.
