Farabi Cinema Foundation honors Reza Mirkarimi
TEHRAN – The Farabi Cinema Foundation honored former Managing Director of the Iranian House of Cinema Reza Mirkarimi during a ceremony organized by the Iranian House of Cinema on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Cinema Organization of Iran (COI) Director Hojjatollah Ayyubi and large number of cineastes at the House of Cinema, Persian media reported.
Farabi Cinema Foundation Managing Director Alireza Tabesh, as the representative of all the cinematic managers, expressed thanks to Mirkarimi on stage.
Ayyubi praised Mirkarimi for his patience and wished he was the COI director instead.
“Mirkarimi has not only preserved his cultural character, but also he is a competent manager. Every time we talk, I tell him I wish you were the COI director. He took helm of the House of Cinema during the hard times. But his great skill is that he is both a good director and a good manager,” he added.
“I must say I praise his patience and I am happy that he runs the Fajr International Film Festival,” he added.
He also said, “The new director of the House of Cinema, Manuchehr Shahsavari, gave me hope that he can continue Mirkarimi’s job well and that good days await the house and its people.”
The ceremony was followed by handing several plaques of honor and awards to Mirkairmi by different cinematic organizations including Iran’s Actors’ Guild and the Iran Dubbing Association.
Amin Tarokh, the director of Iran’s Actors’ Guild, in his brief words said that the House of Cinema has had the honor to make use of Mirkarimi’s thoughtful management twice, adding, “I must say he has always brought prosperity with him.”
Mirkarimi is the director of acclaimed movies such as “Today”, “A Cube of Sugar”, “Under the Moonlight” and “The Daughter”.
