Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei sent out a message, hailing Iran’s medalist, athletes, and hardworking coaches, for their part in the Rio Olympics. The following is a full text of the message:

In the name of Allah
To the Iranian Olympic team returning home, which includes: the heroes who rejoiced the nation with their winnings of bright medals; the champions whose rights were denied by biased judgement; the champions whose merit would not be tarnished for the lack of success; the female athletes -- who displayed for all an honorable symbol of the Iranian woman’s hijab; the brave lady who shone brightly with her complete hijab, in the delegation; finally, all team coachesand sport veterans of this country, I welcome you and thank you all, extending my deepest gratitude.
