August 21 set as deadline to prepare a bill in the move to end violence against women: Iranian VP

TEHRAN – To end violence against women the Presidential Department for Family and Women Affairs has assigned working groups of women’s affairs to present a bill by August 21, Vice President Shahindokht Molaverdi has said.
By this date the groups should announce all measures taken on how to protect women against violence, Molaverdi told ISNA in an interview published on Saturday.
Immediately after the bill is received it will be submitted to Majlis for ratification, said Molaverdi, the vice president for family and women’s affairs.
She said the office under her leadership is seriously focusing on protecting women against violence.
She added insurance for housewives will also be put on the agenda of Majlis.
