TEHRAN – A performance art highlighting peace will open in the Tehran Peace Museum on August 6 under the title “Plaster Your Thought”.

“The performance art, including installation art and video art, aims to focus on a world without war,” artist Meysam Rezai said in a press release published on Monday.

“These types of modern performances keep visitors involved in art and help them better understand the topic,” he added.

Several large and small guns covered with plaster will be hanging from the ceiling to show that war has been stopped. “The entire hall is going to be filled with guns covered with plaster by the visitors,” he explained.

“An artist clad in black costume will be standing in one corner. The artist actually introduces himself as a gun that needs to be covered with plaster in order to stop, this is the performance art,” he added.

“While this is going on in one hall, the other hall will be screening a short film from a video projector. The film portrays the destructive aspects of the war,” he remarked.

“A campaign has also been launched, in which the peace-seeking individuals can sign in to help promote the motto ‘the world without war’,” he concluded.

The performance will continue until August 10 at the museum located on Fayyazbakhsh St., Vahdat Eslami Ave.
