Reshuffling in Iran’s foreign ministry, Zarif names Bahram Qasemi new spokesman

TEHRAN – Foreign Ministry of Iran announced on Sunday new appointments, replacing Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari with Bahram Qasemi.

Bahram Qasemi served previously as Iran’s ambassador to Ireland, Italy, and Spain. He has also been deputy for international research at the Center for Strategic Research, an affiliate of the Expediency Council.
Also, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif named the outgoing Jaberi Ansari to lead deputy foreign minister for Arab and African Affairs, previously run by Hossein Amir-abdollahian.
Amir-abdollahian will be taking assisting Zarif in his capacity as advisor, Zarif ordered.
Jaberi Ansari was Tehran’s ambassador to Libya as well as deputy foreign minister for the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).
