TEHRAN - Iran national football team downed Kyrgyzstan 6-0 in a friendly match in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.

Team Melli, who is preparing for the final Asian qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, had also defeated Macedonia in a friendly on June 2.

Masoud Shojaei scored from the penalty spot in the 6th minute.

Mehdi Taremi and Mehdi Torabi made it 3-0 in the 25th and 29th minutes respectively.

Karim Ansarifard netted a brace in the 69th and 90th minutes and Sardar Azmoun, who came off the bench in the second half, scored in the 87th minute.

Iran has been drawn in Group A of the World Cup qualifying along with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar, China and Syria.
