TEHRAN -- The Iranian director of “Black Noise”, a drama on the loneliness of old age, plans to hold the premiere of the film in Iran earlier than in Canada, where it was produced.

The film, whose cast members are all Canadian, will be dubbed for the Iranian premiere, Behruz Afkhami told the Persian service of ISNA on Saturday.

However, no exact time was mentioned for it.

“Black Noise” competed in the international competition section of Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival, which ended last week.

Its leading actor Derek Tidd won a Crystal Simorgh for best actor for the portrayal of an 87-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

“Tidd made his acting debut in the film, which brought him the award,” Afkhami stated.

He said that the film also got positive feedback at the festival.

“Black Noise” was also screened at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival in September 2011.

The film was originally entitled “This Is Not My House”, but Afkhami renamed it “Black Noise” in October 2010 after he said that he planned to screen it in Iran.
