Direct Beirut-Tehran Flight Resumes

BEIRUT After 20 years of suspension, the first tentative direct Tehran-Beirut flight to Tehran took place on Monday, it was announced here yesterday. Lebanese flight technicians and aviation officials of Lebanese Middle East Airline were on board the plane flying to Tehran. The first Middle East passenger plane will fly on Friday which will take the Lebanese Defense Minister and parliamentarians to Tehran. The resumption of flights between Tehran and Beirut follows an agreement reached between the two countries during the recent visit to Beirut by Iran's Minister of Housing and Urban Development Abdolalizadeh. In its initial step Lebanese airline will conduct two fights to Tehran weekly and after a few months Iran Air will conduct its first flight to Beirut. (IRNA)
