TEHRAN Managing-Director of Iranian National Airlines Iran Air, Ahmad Reza Kazemi said on Saturday Iran Air has planned to purchase four air buses from France to provide 1,200 seats for its flights to London, Amsterdam and other destinations abroad. He said according to the international standards Iran Air would gradually replace the new planes with its ageing airliners. Within two years, Iran Air will overhaul seven boeing 747 airliners to meet the international standards, he said.

Kazemi said Iran Air has already bought two air buses, six Fokker F-100 and leased several airliners to meet its needs in domestic and overseas flights. He said Iran Air has now entered into negotiations with the airplane manufacturers from Russia and Europe on transfer of technology to Iran and replace with new planes those Iran Air has leased from foreign airlines.

He said Iran Air is flying to 40 destinations abroad about 23 destinations are in Europe. (IRNA)
