HAMSHAHRI, in a news report, has quoted Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar as saying that the Interior Ministry will seriously deal with those who launch campaigns for the March parliamentary elections earlier than the set time. “We will not allow anyone to interfere in (the process of holding) elections,” Interior Minister Najjar said. He also said that the ministry will make every effort to hold vibrant elections. Najjar went on to say that candidates must not use public properties in their election campaigns. He added that 95 percent of the electoral procedure will be computerized.
JAM-E JAM, in a news report, has quoted State Inspectorate Organization Director Mostafa Pourmohammadi as saying that the officials at the organization are ready to provide explanation if there are any questions about its performance regarding the recent $2.6 billion financial fraud case. “State Inspectorate Organization shoulders a heavy responsibility. However, if we have not effectively fulfilled our responsibility, we are ready to be criticized.” Elsewhere in his remarks, Pourmohammadi stated that issues should not be blown out of proportion and said that criticisms should not be constantly leveled at the organization over the fraud case, adding, “If we are supposed to raise certain issues, we will refer to many cases.”
