Leader’s proposal, road map to liberation of Palestine: Islamic Jihad

TEHRAN – Islamic Jihad of Palestine Secretary General Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah says the Supreme Leader’s plan is a road map to the liberation of the occupied territories.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, during a speech at a conference on Palestine on Saturday, said, “The Islamic Republic’s proposal to help resolve the Palestinian issue and heal this old wound is a clear and logical initiative based on political concepts accepted by world public opinion, which has already been presented in detail. We do not suggest launching a classic war by the armies of Muslim countries, or throwing immigrant Jews into the sea, or mediation by the UN and other international organizations. We propose holding a referendum with (the participation of) the Palestinian nation. The Palestinian nation, like any other nation, has the right to determine their own destiny and elect the governing system of the country.”
Ramadan Abdullah, during a meeting with secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili in Tehran on Monday, said, “We regard the Zionist regime as an occupying regime which has no legitimacy and is declining in importance.”
He condemned any measure which would lead to the recognition of the Israeli regime and would ignore the legal right of the Palestinian people to their homeland.
He went on to say that the Palestinian people and Islamic resistance movements are determined to restore their rights and will not retreat from their stances.
Ramadan Abdullah also thanked Iran for holding the international conference on the Palestinian Intifada.
In the meeting, Jalili also expressed hope that Islamic awakening will lead to the victory of the Palestinian nation and said the existing potential of the region should be utilized in favor of the Islamic world and the liberation of the holy Qods.
Islamic awakening, opportunity for full liberation of Palestine
In a separate meeting between Jalili and Hamas political bureau chief Khaled Meshaal, the two sides regarded Islamic awakening as an opportunity to continue resistance until all of the occupied territories are liberated.
Jalili commented on the fact that the uprisings occurring in the region are anti-Israeli and anti-U.S. in nature and said the Zionist regime is on the verge of collapse.
He called the Palestine issue an international matter and said efforts to liberate Palestine can create a sense of unity and hope among regional nations to campaign against imperialism.
Khaled Meshaal also rejected any plan calling for the recognition of the Zionist regime.
With the collapse of Israel’s allies in the region, the Zionist regime is becoming completely isolated, he stated.
The Hosni Mubarak regime, as the main ally of Israel in the region, collapsed on February 11.
The top Hamas official said when the United States failed to save its regional allies, such as Hosni Mubarak, it put a new mask on and claimed to be supporting popular uprisings.
However, the regional nations’ vigilance prevented the U.S. from taking advantage of the uprisings, he opined.
Iran-Iraq cooperation in favor of Islamic world
In another meeting with the speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Usama Abdul Aziz al-Nujayfi on Sunday, Jalili said regional cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad is in favor of the Islamic world.
Iraq can play an important role at the regional stage through stabilizing situation at home and utilizing its great potential, Jalili stated.
The security official added the Islamic Republic is ready to share its experience with Iraq which has been gained during the 32-year history of the Islamic Revolution.
