Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado sent a message of congratulation to Persepolis fans on winning Tehran derby.

Persepolis defeated bitter rival Esteghlal 4-2 in Tehran derby on Friday.

The Reds moved to top of Iran Professional League with the win and took a major step toward securing title in the Iranian league.

“I congratulate the fans of Persepolis over the victory in derby. And I believe that Esteghlal’s fans should not be disappointed because they can get back on track in the future. Life goes on,” Salgado said.

The Spaniard has traveled to Iran to meet the talented young players for Real Madrid Academy.
