Rezaei: U.S. that has failed to comply with JCPOA has no right to discuss Iran missile program

Secretary of the Expediency Council has said the U.S. which has so far failed to comply with the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has no business to speak about Iran’s missile capability.

Mohsen Rezaei made the remarks while addressing a gathering to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Ali Sayad Shirazi.
“Following the JCPOA, the U.S. Congress Democrats signed a document to hinder dollar-based exchanges with Iran,” Rezaei reminded.
“This is a violation of the JCPOA as we (Iranians) all supported the negotiations and even stopped publicizing our military drills, but the U.S. has fallen short of its commitments to the Bani Sadr, Hashemi, Khatami, and Rouhani administrations.”
Rezaei, former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), also made a quip, saying, “It seems the JCPOA has given great pleasure to Mr. Kerry that he brings the missile issue up in his statements.”
In a recent press talk, the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had expressed readiness to negotiate with Iran over its missile program.
John Kerry has come in for a lot of flak from senior Iranian officials for the missile remarks.
Also, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan has reacted to Kerry’s comments, asking him and other U.S. officials to tell the world the reason for their presence in other regions instead of meddling in other countries.
With ink still drying on the JCPOA deal, U.S. and its Western allies have opened a new front, targeting Iran’s missile program.
Tehran, on the other hand, says its missile program is solely for defensive purposes with conventional, non-nuclear warheads.
In the same vein, on Saturday IRGC Deputy Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said, “This is outside their (Americans) province to talk about our defensive requirements.”
