TEHRAN - Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Expediency Council, said in a meeting on Monday that strengthening the country’s military power, especially missile technology, is “essential”.

Rafsanjani said he has always highlighted the importance of “upgrading” missile program as a “defense and deterrent power”.

Elsewhere, he highlighted the status of Velayat Faqih (rule of Supreme Jurisprudence) and said Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei should be supported.
