TEHRAN People all over the world can comprehend Iranian films and can easily establish relations with them, an Argentinian film producer Nicolas Sarqvis told the TEHRAN TIMES. Sarqvis, who participated in the 17th International Fajr Film Festival as a foreign guest, said that Iranian films are contrary to Hollywood films regarding their effects on the audience. The Argentine producer, who introduced Iranian films in Mar del Plata Festival, added, There are remarkable differences between Iranian films and American or other Western immoral films.

Such differences were behind the success of Iranian films in t Welcoming the Future Cinema section in the 17th International Fajr Film Festival, Sarqvis said, Unfortunately, there was not a section for screening short films in Mar del Plata Festival. We have now decided to add this section to that festival, lik Referring to the improvement of the relations between Iran and Argentina, Sarqvis said, In my opinion, cinema is an important factor in expansion of ties between countries.

For example, the special prize of the international competition section of l Sarqvis's wife, Christina, who has accompanied his husband in his trip to Iran, said, New feelings and thoughts in Iranian films attract the audience's attention. Christina believes that the Iranian women are unique in simpleness. Iranian women explain themselves in the films in the best manner, although they encounter some restrictions in the expression of their feelings and love, she noted.

Christina concluded by saying that the Iranian women have achieved their real status in society, adding that they enjoy respect and admiration in Iran, despite what some believe in the West.
