Peace and Dialog Among Civilizations in 14th Fajr International Music Festival

TEHRAN The Fourteenth Fajr International Music Festival will be held on February 4-19 at 17 halls in Tehran. Touching on the programs of the festival, Head of the Revolutionary Songs Center, Ali Moradkhani said: The 14th Fajr International Music Festival will be held here in different sections of competition, special, nations' music, sidelines and women. Over 316 musical performances belonging to all above-mentioned sections will be performed in 21 seances.

Moradkhani further said that 104 artists from townships and 215 artists from Tehran Province have been accepted for participation in the competition section. The competition section will be performed for three age groups of A (includes artists between 10 to 12 years of age), B (12-15) and C (16-20). The competition section will be held in four categories of traditional (two different styles), classical and music composition.

More than 53 groups of traditional music with over 300 Iranian artists will perform their programs on the sidelines of the festival. Elaborating on other sidelines activities of the Music Festival, Moradkhani said, Performance of symphonic orchestra under the leadership of Fereidoun Naseri and also special programs for 13 groups of women musicians are among sidelines programs of the festival. He concluded that some discussion sessions in the presence of university instructors and researchers in the field of Iranian and foreign musics will be held during 13 nights at the Carpet Museum. Certain special programs and discussion sessions with the subject matter of Peace and Dialog Among Civilizations will also be held in this section.
