TEHRAN- Marzieh Shahdaie, the former director for projects in Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC), was appointed as the new managing director of the company.

In a decree on Monday, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh appointed Shahdaie to the post, replacing Abbas Sha’ri-Moqaddam, according to the Shana news agency.

Zanganeh says Iran is planning for a leap in its petrochemical industry in the post-sanctions era.

In a ceremony held in Tehran in December 2015 to celebrate the 51st establishment anniversary of the NPC, Mohammad-Hassan Peyvandi, the deputy managing director of company, said petrochemical industry can crown Iranian economy, because many other industries of the country are relying on it.
