Iran’s non-oil exports hits over $35.6b in 10 months

TEHRAN – The value of Iran’s non-oil exports hit $35.613 billion in the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2015-January 20, 2016).

The country’s worth of non-oil exports fall by 15.87 percent during the ten-month period from the same period of time in the past year, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Iran imported $33.843 billion of non-oil goods in the first ten months of the current year, with 22.32 percent drop from the same period in the previous year.

Propane and bitumen were the main exported good; corn, wheat, soy bean, rice and car parts were the major imported products during the ten-month time.

Iran has set a target of $77.5 billion in non-oil exports for the current Iranian calendar year, according to Mojtaba Khosrotaj, the Iranian deputy industry, mining, and trade minister.      

Iran’s total non-oil exports hit $49.744 billion in the previous Iranian calendar year, showing 18.87 percent rise from $41.848 billion in its preceding year.       

The country’s non-oil imports reached $52.477 billion in the past year, with 5.57 percent growth compared to the year before.
