Iranian Navy chief visits Bangladesh

TEHRAN - Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari arrived in Bangladesh to take part in the Fifth Conference of Navy Commanders of Indian Ocean Littoral States.

The three-day biannual conference will be participated by the Indian Ocean Littoral States as well as a number of American, European, and East Asian countries, Fars reported on Friday.

Participants are slated to discuss issues such as piracy in Bab el-Mandeb and the Gulf of Aden.

University professors and experts of marine sciences will also attend the conference.

Iran is scheduled to host the next meeting of the navy commanders of the Indian Ocean littoral states in 2018.
