TEHRAN- Iran and Denmark can develop long-term economic partnership in different areas, Iranian Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Mohammad-Reza Ne’matzadeh stated.

Ne’matzadeh made the remarks in his meeting with Denmark’s Foreign Affairs Minister Christian Jensen in Tehran on January 5, IRIB News Agency reported.

The Iranian minister mentioned science and technology, food and textile, as well as different fields of energy including petrochemicals as some areas appropriate for the expansion of Iran-Denmark economic ties.

Jensen on the head of a Danish trade delegation arrived in Tehran on Monday to explore the ways for the expansion of relations between Iran and Denmark.

Ne’matzadeh expressed hope that the two countries would restore their strong trade relations once the West-engineered sanctions against the Islamic Republic are removed.

The senior official said, “We could launch joint ventures with Danish companies in Iran’s market, making Iran a hub for Danish economic activities in the Middle East”.

Jensen, for his part, said the two countries can make practical contracts in the post-sanctions era.

He added that Denmark could also become the European hub for Iran’s economic activities.

The Danish minister noted that his country support Iran in gaining the membership of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Meanwhile, after his meeting with Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian on Monday, Jensen said Denmark can help Iran develop its renewable energy sector.

According to Chitchian, Some of the companies in the visiting Danish delegation have already announced their readiness to set up plants for manufacturing wind turbines in Iran.

During its trip, the Danish delegation also made an agreement with Iranian Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs to finance implementation of some Iranian projects.

Jensen has said that the fruitful trade agreements made between Iran and Denmark could pave the way for bolstering trade ties between the two countries.
