TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African affairs has said that settling the Syrian crisis depends on “political strategy, respect to the Syrian people’s will and inter-Syrian dialogue”.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a phone conversation with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, where the two officials discussed latest developments in Syria, Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.

Amir-Abdollahian said that preparing a list of the opponents who are committed to a political strategy and a list of the terrorist groups depend on negotiations between all influential parties and efforts by the UN.

The UN official, in turn, attached great importance to Iran’s status in helping to resolve the crisis in Syria.
