Disabled Iranians receive monthly subsidies: official

TEHRAN — Chief of State Welfare Organization of Iran, Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpey, announced that currently some people with disabilities in the country receive monthly subsidies, Mehr reported.

“Some 3.4 million rials (about $97) for daycare services and 6 million rials (about $170) for round the clock services will be paid to the rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities,” Mohseni explained.

Some 100,000 people with disabilities are being paid 1.5 million rials (about $43) monthly for easy Movement in the city, he added.

“Moreover, we paid tuition fees of about 20,000 under-privileged disabled students last year,” he said.

The disabled people who suffer from spinal cord injuries receive nursing services provided by the State Welfare Organization, Mohseni noted.

A special committee is also formed in the parliament to decide the amount of the budget for them and the decision will be finalized by January, he said.
