TEHRAN — Some 180,000 Iranian families with breadwinning women are under the coverage of the State Welfare Organization, an official with the organization stated.

“Paying students’ tuitions and helping them find jobs are of services we offer to such families,” Habibollah Masoudi-Farid told the IRNA news agency.

Additionally, 100,000 women who are the head of their families are insured, he noted.

There are also 24 rehab facilities nationwide helping socially disadvantaged and vulnerable women, he said, adding that some 1,200 of such women were admitted to the facilities in the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, he added.

He further pointed that “there are 31 centers for girls who are either oppressed or violated.” “Last year, 500 girls who were mainly minors were admitted to the centers as well.”
