TEHRAN – Russian Minister of Labor and Social Protection Maxim Topilin is due to arrive in Tehran today, the Fars News Agency reported.
Topilin, so has been revealed, seeks to conclude some trade contracts in his projected meetings with Iranian authorities.
Already, Iranian Deputy Labor Minister Mohammadtaqi Hosseini and Russia’s ambassador to Tehran Levan Dzhagaryan had met to arrange for the ministerial trip.
Hosseini stated that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) would be inked between Iranian Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare and Russian Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
Earlier in November, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, heading a high-ranking Russian economic delegation, visited Iran and met with Iranian Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi.
“There are many fields of cooperation and given the measures which are now being taken for the expansion of ties between the two countries, Iran-Russia worth of trade could be increased highly from the current $1.07 billion,” Vaezi had noted in that meeting.
