TEHRAN – The 21st edition of the Exhibition of Press and News Agencies, Iran’s most significant media showcase, will be held in Tehran next week, Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Hossein Entezami announced in a press conference on Monday.

Entezami elaborated on different programs arranged for the weeklong exhibit, which will open at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on November 7.

Over 1500 media, including newspapers, magazines, news agencies and press organizations will participate this year, he said, adding that 567 local and nationwide newspapers will set up stands at this year’s exhibition.

He also added that different companies and institutes active in the press arena such as distributing companies, public relations offices and paper industries will also take part in the exhibit.

“In addition, news agencies, press and periodicals have already registered online and their pavilions have been reserved,” Entezami said.

“Religion, art and culture, politics, education, family, and children are the six categories that the media can help present in a better way,” he added.

“A variety of programs have also been arranged on the margins of the event where students’ amateur publications and periodicals being published by some mosques will be on display to liven up the exhibit,” he added.

Moreover, a pavilion has been set aside for veteran journalists and reporters where they can meet and exchange views with visitors.

In collaboration with the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, the organizers are also scheduled to honor newspapers, news agencies and provincial papers observing correct Persian writing.

Some stands will also be allocated to foreign news agencies and newspapers that have offices in Tehran, Entezami said and added that several foreign journalists have also been invited to the exhibit to share their knowledge and experience. However he did not disclose the names of the invitees.

A new pavilion has also been set up where the National Library and Archives of Iran will display their very early manuscripts and documents on Iran’s press activities, he concluded.
