TEHRAN – A team of Iranian documentarians are working on a documentary series that will chronicle the lives of Iranian entrepreneurs.

The Karestan Documentary Film Series is being supervised by prominent filmmakers Rakhsan Bani-Etemad and Mojtaba Mirtahmasb.

The project aims to make people, especially the youth, more acquainted with entrepreneurs, Bani-Etemad said in a press release on Sunday.

“The youth see no bright future for work, and they have a strong desire to migrate to a new country to gain better positions,” she added.

“Portraying the viewpoints, thoughts and invaluable experience of entrepreneurs can depict a new landscape and open a new window to the youth, leading to national development and progress within the country,” she added.

The project includes 17 independent films each centering on the life of a successful entrepreneur who is active in the private sector, she noted.

“The main audience of this series will be the youth who are trying to find a role model and examples for their future, and this series will help show them their role models,” she added.

The project has been sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women and Youth.

The first phase of the project, which is in the production stage, contains five docs, each depicting the life of a single entrepreneur.

“Karestan” aims to both depict the successful lives of Iranian entrepreneurs and give a new definition of careers in Iran.
