U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Thursday that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action is scheduled to be implemented “in three days”.

“…Now that agreement was reached in July, and it will go into effect in three days…,” the State Department reported him as saying.

The Iranian parliament on Tuesday approved the historic nuclear deal agreed with six world powers, paving the way for the implementation of the accord. By a vote of 161-59, with 13 abstentions, parliament approved a bill supporting the agreement.

The bill was also confirmed by the 12-member Guardian Council on Wednesday.

Iran and the 5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - finalized the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna on July 14.

On July 20, the UN Security Council turned the JCPOA into international law by endorsing a resolution, setting the stage for the lifting of the Security Council sanctions against Iran.
