Iran-Indonesia cooperation to help Muslim world: Rouhani

TEHRAN – Cooperation between Iran and Indonesia will help greatly to resolve the problems of the Muslim world, President Hassan Rouhani said in a meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Rento Marsudi here on Wednesday.
He said as two Muslim countries with shared interests, the two countries are able to do a lot to fight common threats.He also urged efforts to strengthen mutual economic ties and said it is necessary to pave the way for investors on both sides to join economic projects.
Rouhani hoped that in the post-sanctions era, the Iran-Indonesia joint economic cooperation council will be actively involved in seeking cooperation venues.
------ Marsudi meets Iranian counterpart
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Marsudi earlier the day said that there is a good cooperation between Iran and Indonesia in political area.
The two countries share close views on many issues, Zarif said.
He also said Tehran and Jakarta cooperate with each other in campaign against terrorism.
Marsudi, for her part said Indonesia seeks to expand economic ties with Iran.
She also said that Iran and Indonesia play an important role in boosting democracy and fighting terrorism.
She also expressed hope that the nuclear deal between Iran and great powers, officially recognized as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, would be implemented soon.
Iran and the 5+1 group - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - finalized the text of the JCPOA in Vienna on July 14. The deal was passed by the Iranian parliament on Tuesday and confirmed by the Guardian Council on Wednesday.
