TEHRAN - Iran and the European Union are going to arrange a series of high-profile talks, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi said Monday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini are to arrange the talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, which will start September 15, Mehr reported.

The talks are to follow an initiative made public during Mogherini’s visit to Iran last month.

The talks will kick off at the level of deputy foreign ministers and then with foreign ministers, Zarif said during Mogherini’s visit.
