TEHRAN - Guardian Council Spokesman Nejatollah Ebrahimian has said that preparatory measures were underway to hold future elections through e-voting.

Pointing out that modernization of national tasks is required by the law, he said the Guardian Council is waiting for a timetable from the Interior Ministry that explains when elections should turn electronic, Khabar Online news website reported Saturday.

He said the Guardian Council is not sure whether the upcoming elections of the Majlis (parliament) and Assembly of Experts – to be held simultaneously on February 26, 2016 – will be held using e-voting.
